Educate

We use school sports to connect with children trapped in extreme Poverty & give them access to EDUCATION and bigger horizons in Life.

Pathways

Talented & hard-working kids are lifted into our Pathways development program. They receive elite coaching, healthy meals, clean water, school support & a chance to earn scholarships to schools their parents cannot afford.

Jobs

Africa needs youth jobs and dignity in communities, especially women who are the backbone of families caught in extreme poverty.

LSO creates much needed youth jobs as coaches & we employ local mums as helpers & cooks for the children who receive meals every weekend at training. We also offer zero interest loans so mums can start a business!

Education facilities

We provide structured and equipped sports programs to thousands sports deprived children weekly. At all our sessions the children participate in positive themed group talks including theatre aimed at developing the health and well-being of the child and the community.

Mission And History:

Educate, establish pathways to better living and create jobs.

As a senior Australian businessman Michael came to Kenya in 2007 and was moved by the plight of Kenya's slum children and decided to form LITTLE SPORTS ORGANISATION a child centered community development organization that ascribes to the UN chartered right to play.

We have a strategic policy plan that seeks to provide the children with psycho socio educational themes that help them in life skill development.

Our Approach

Educating, providing pathways to better education and life, and creating much needed jobs to produce better citizens.

Approach

Together, we strive to build a future where sports not only unite us on the playing field for generations to come.

How We Work

We create pathways at grassroots level to tournaments, competition and sports careers.

And we seek funding to support Education through schools’ infrastructure to support building of classrooms, and solar powered modern ICT labs including placements in international schools and training programs.

The Pathways program is program is creating leagues and brining children into the game and building healthier, better young citizens, free of drug abuse, free of thoughts of teen pregnancy & full of hope and the intention to succeed.

01

When we Play, we Educate.

Sports keep children in school. When LSO starts in a school, attendance goes up, grades improve and drug abuse in the community reduces.

The values in sports teach Integrity, discipline, hard-work and the UN SDGS we promote show children a larger view and they are part of tomorrow’s world.

02

LSO creates much needed Youth jobs

The income our coaches earn supports families, pays schools fees and brings people out of poverty.

The Growing Problems Kenyan Teenagers are facing

We go where things are tough. In the schools we play, many children are caught in a cycle of intergenerational poverty with no way out. Our current Mombasa project is an example;

  • 01Drug Abuse:

Drug abuse is rising. [Up to 30% of Mombasa people are abusing drugs.]

  • 02Crime:

Teenage school children are joining gangs and engaging in crime.

  • 03Teen pregnancy & Early marriage:

Girls are engaging in dangerous ‘survival’ sex. Teen pregnancy and early marriage are common – plunging another generation into poverty. [Over half of Mombasa girls are married by 17, most at 14/15 years.]

  • 04Unemployment:

Hopelessness because of lack of Jobs. [44% of Mombasa youth are unemployed].
