About

Extreme Poverty Isn’t Fair

“It isn’t fair. It’s an inter-generational cycle - its ugly - and the children have no-way out unless we make stand & intervene. I do this because we must, it's a kind of anger that drives me. The Fact is we CAN change the trajectory of these children’s lives. With the love and caring of people allover the world who donate and make a difference.” says Michael Flynn, LSO Founder.

WE is bigger than me.

Agnes' Story

Meet Mama Agnes, a 36-year-old from Siaya County, Kenya. One of nine children, she faced hardship early on when her father passed away. Mama Agnes left school young and married at 18 after becoming pregnant, moving to Mombasa to avoid returning to her village.

Now, with seven children in a single-room home, she earns $0.70 daily selling vegetables. Her husband, unable to work due to a disability, adds to the challenges. Through our rugby program, we discovered Agnes (her second child) wasn't attending high school.

Thanks to LSO, Agnes and four other girls received scholarships to prestigious rugby boarding schools in Kenya. Inspired by her sister, 10-year-old Bilha joined our U12 team. LSO has become a source of family pride for them.

Salome's Story

Salome is small...And hits like a truck. Blessed with electrifying speed.

Salome's journey is heart-wrenching. Abandoned by her mother at age 6 and left by her father at age 12, she was desperate and alone. With nowhere else to turn, she found a cousin at her local school and followed him home without him knowing.

Her jobless aunt, struggling to make ends meet, took her in, and an uncle does all he can and provides a meagre amount of support. LSO pays her school fees, school uniform, clothes, shoes, and school lunches.

Salome’s story is one of courage and perseverance, and through Rugby, she is discovering her potential and reclaiming her dreams.

We're dedicated to lifting children and youth from poverty-stricken villages into new realms of achievement and joy. For ages 8 to 18, we provide essentials like food, water, and educational support. With your support, we can expand our reach and help even more.

Most importantly, we instil Rugby’s values of Solidarity, Passion, Discipline, and Respect. Your small donations cover fares, hot lunches, medical care, player kits, hygiene needs, and tournament transportation.
